Urban Rest Best Things To Do In Randwick Sydney

A Vibrant Sydney Suburb That Has It All

24 Hours in Randwick

Randwick is a lively Sydney suburb, perfectly located between the busy city life and the slower pace of the beaches. Randwick has something for everyone; parks, delicious restaurants, funky bars, a famous racecourse, coastal walks, golf courses, a heritage-listed cinema, shops and more. Here’s how we would spend 24 hours in Randwick!

Start With a Morning Coffee at 22 Grams

Start your day by grabbing a coffee from Randwick’s famous roastery and bakery 22 Grams, located just opposite the light rail station. This quirky cafe offers incredibly good coffee – with its own carefully roasted coffee and attention to detail (such as always weighing 22 grams of coffee for each espresso shot), you can taste their passion for coffee in every sip. The place has a unique industrial vibe and artful interior design, with fun & happy people providing fantastic service. If you like a sweet start to your day, definitely try out one of their fantastic pastries. Our favourites are the cinnamon buns and almond croissants. A must-visit!

Enjoy the Nature in Centennial Park

After your morning coffee, head over to Sydney’s biggest park Centennial Park. This beautiful parkland is located just minutes away from the Randwick town centre, and with 3.5 km around the park, you have plenty of space to enjoy. You’ll find something to do no matter what you’re into – running, cycling, walking, a nice picnic or bbq, birdwatching or even horseback riding and rollerblading.

The park has two great cafes, Centennial Homestead and the Greenhouse Cafe, and the Spruce Goose Diner kiosk, which is perfect for takeaway food. During the warmer months of the year, Centennial Park is also home to the outdoor Moonlight cinema, showing new movies just after sunset throughout the summer. If you’re bringing your furry friend along, both of you will have a great time in the park since Centennial Parklands is one of the most dog-friendly parks in Sydney, with over 30% of the Parklands’ open space designated for off-leash.

Have Lunch Under the Umbrellas at Page Two

In the heart of Randwick, you’ll find the popular local spot Page Two, serving delicious food and coffee. Head all the way into the back to discover their San Juan-inspired “hidden” garden – with a decorative interior and a roof completely made out of umbrellas in all different colours. You can expect to feel very welcomed by the cheerful and friendly staff while enjoying an all-day brunch menu with a variety of options. Our best recommendations include the Bruschetta Avocado Smash, the Spicy Seafood Pasta and the French Toast.

Go for a Swim at Coogee Beach

After lunch, take a short 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive to Coogee Beach, one of Sydney’s most popular beaches. A swimmer’s paradise, blessed with natural and man-made rock pools, as well as the beautiful beach itself. If you rather stay out of the water, you can walk either up north towards Bondi Beach or down south towards Maroubra Beach for some stunning coastal walks. This is the perfect place to watch the sunset from the beach or while grabbing a drink in one of the many great bars. The locals love the restaurant and bar scene, including the famous Coogee Pavilion, the Coogee Bay Hotel and Coogee Wine Room.

Have a Spanish Feast at Del Punto

Located in the popular restaurant & bar area The Spot in Randwick, Del Punto is a place you certainly don’t want to miss out on. Choose from a wide range of mouth-watering tapas inspired by Barcelona in a stylish and atmospheric space with an authentic taste and spirit of Spain. Enjoy a great ambience and fantastic customer service at this hidden gem in Randwick. Their tagline, “best margaritas in Sydney”, sure is a strong statement, but we might be prepared to agree. We suggest trying their famous paella along with your margarita, and you can’t go wrong.

Finish the Day With a Movie at the Ritz

Across the road from Del Punto you find the iconic Ritz cinema, rich in history and tradition. Built in 1937 and now heritage-listed, it’s one of only two original Art Deco cinemas remaining in Sydney. The cinema has survived a fascinating history of tumultuous change and holds an important place in the local culture. Showing both new and old movies at an affordable price, the cinema has something for everyone and we can assure you’ll have a unique and memorable experience. If you’re in the mood for a drink before or after your movie, the Ritz also has a lovely rooftop bar. Definitely check it out while you’re in Randwick!
